I’m a new photographer. I do not want to call myself an “aspiring” or “amateur” because I don’t think it accurately conveys my talent. I do not underestimate myself, however I recognize my need for improvement.
I work full time, 40 hours a week, in a retail store to help cover the cost of photo equipment… and of course other essentials like rent and food. I do not hate my job, but I want something better.
I am tired and exhausted from photo editing and portfolio building. I spend endless hours of conceptualizing, shooting, proofing, editing, and re-editing. Right now I’m working on giving my photos a consistent look. I’m ready to pass out at 5pm in the afternoon. I still have an event to shoot tonight. I’d rather sleep.
But the ones that make it are the ones that never quit.
